Students approach each painting with a childlike innocence. The paintings begin in a very structured format, using grids, drawings, sketches, and pre-cut shapes. Each subsequent layer starts by adding and subtracting new shapes, using spatulas, brushes, paint tubes, tape, cut-outs, etc. Create a balance between the mind’s desire for structure and order and the soul’s quest to push the limits.
